Dr. Kristen Colleran

Dr. Kristen Colleran received her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and attended veterinary college in Ireland at the National University of Ireland, University College Dublin, graduating with honors in Small Animal Medicine in 1999.

Following graduation, Dr. Colleran spent two years working in Ireland, treating pets as well as horses and farm animals. She then returned to the U.S. and shifted her focus to small animals. Having been exposed to the healing effects of alternative medicines personally, she felt that she could best serve her patients with a more holistic approach. Dr. Colleran completed her certification in Veterinary Acupuncture from Chi University in 2009. Adding to her skill set, she became a Certified Veterinary Spinal Manipulation Therapist (also referred to as a Veterinary Chiropractor) through Healing Oasis Wellness Center in Sturtevant, Wisconsin. She has also recently completed coursework in veterinary applied kinesiology. Additionally, she is working on certification in Veterinary Rehabilitation and Veterinary Homeopathy. Finally, she is a Master Reiki Practitioner. She is an experienced diagnostician, and with her training in holistic medicine, she offers an integrated approach to treating many common medical conditions. Her goal is to identify the root cause of your pet’s disharmony (dis-ease) and bring him or her back to a state of health and balance.

Dr. Colleran finds her center and grounding in nature…running, hiking, on the water and with yoga practice. Her pup Finn often accompanies her on hiking trips, enjoying the freedom of the woods as much as she does. He also serves as a guide to remind her to stay present and find joy in each moment. She believes in the interconnectivity of all things and tries to live intentionally and peacefully, doing no harm.
